This week marks the final session of a series I began two years ago in collaboration with the Bridge Healing Arts Center. I showed up with an idea and a willingness to follow it through. Over time, it has evolved into a cornerstone of my work — meaningful, profound, and deeply transformational for both myself and the participants.

“Release Into Wellness,” as I’ve come to call it, is a one-hour journey using Reiki and sound to guide participants into deep states of relaxation. The intention is simple yet powerful: allow the body and mind to release, reset, and restore. Through intentional energywork, my goal is to help shift brainwave activity into alpha and theta states, where true relaxation, healing, and insight can begin.

The Power of Brain Waves

Our brain operates across a range of wave frequencies, each associated with different states of being:

  1. Beta (16–30 Hz) – Our everyday waking state. This is where we spend much of our time — thinking, creating, problem-solving, and engaging with the world.
  2. Alpha (8–15 Hz) – A more relaxed state, often experienced during light meditation, visualization, or gentle reflection.
  3. Theta (4–7 Hz) – A deeper meditative state, where intuition, memory, and inner vision are most active. This is where we often feel like we’re drifting between sleep and wakefulness.
  4. Delta (0.1–3 Hz) – The slowest frequency, associated with deep, dreamless sleep and full-body restoration.

Both Reiki and sound healing have the ability to shift our brainwave patterns. This effect, known as entrainment, occurs when the brain begins to synchronize with the rhythmic vibrations of sound and energy frequencies. In this state, overactive minds settle, and the body is given permission to soften, rest, and repair.

The Gateway to Peace and Insight

When we allow ourselves to access these states — especially Alpha and Theta — we often receive not just rest, but revelations. Insights may rise to the surface, clarity emerges, and long-held tension releases. It feels almost magical, but it’s entirely natural and available to all of us. This work is both refreshing and restorative. It offers time to pause, to integrate our intentions, and to return to a sense of centeredness that many of us don’t realize we’ve lost — until we feel it again.

I feel deeply honored to guide others (and myself) into this kind of healing space. We are often more depleted than we know — running on empty, out of alignment with what our body, mind, and spirit truly need.

It may be time to assess your needs and how you manage your self-care, and, more importantly, your Inner Self-Care—keeping yourself nourished regularly instead of relying on external refills when you feel depleted. I am here to guide you when you are ready.

Are you finding yourself overwhelmed? What inner resources can you access for support?
